Site re-engineering and content management

A member company of Grant Thornton International, Grant Thornton LLP is a leading chartered accountants and management consulting firm, serving entrepreneurs and organizations through more than 100 offices across Canada.

The original Grant Thornton site was outdated and functionally limited. When new Web site branding guidelines were mandated by the international head office, it was time to rebuild and take the opportunity to enhance the information on the site and increase the level of utility for current and prospective clients. Site maintenance was a significant issue, as were issues such as keeping the list of company contacts across the country up-to-date easily and accurately.

lordlyassociates created new look and feel for the site that balanced strict adherence to the company’s international guidelines with the significant enhancements required to accommodate the specific needs of the Canadian audience and complexity of a larger site.

Supported by a database-enabled content management system, much of the site can be directly maintained by the company’s internal staff through a secure administration area, including e-mail newsletter authoring and list management.

Branch offices across Canada can produce and maintain their own home pages within the site and track individual client requests.

lordlyassociates engineered a sophisticated e-mail communications system that allows inquiries from the site to be directed to the company’s most relevant contact for each service line anywhere in Canada.

Grant Thornton has been enjoying complete control of the day-to-day running of the site since the re-launch. The site can be maintained by those responsible for the information, without the need for HTML production or technical skills. As well, the inclusive nature of the site has encouraged buy-in by branch offices across Canada.

Overall, the site is playing an increasingly active and effective role in client communications and relationship building.
